They are a source of high-quality and policy-relevant research that informs healthy urban design and planning.
Planning Institute of Australia
The Planning Institute of Australia is the national body representing the planning profession. Through education, communication and professional development, PIA is the pivotal organisation serving and guiding thousands of planning professionals in their role to create better communities
Healthway strives to deliver visionary and proactive leadership in health promotion in WA, providing grants to a range of organisations to support programs that encourage healthy lifestyles. These include grants for innovative health promotion projects and campaigns in the community, as well as research funding to support studies that lead to healthier outcomes.

Metropolitan Redevelopment Agency
The Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority (MRA) is driving the regeneration of Perth. With a strong, clear vision, innovative design and planning the MRA is building Perth’s capacity.
Department of Transport
Our key focus is on operational transport functions and strategic transport planning and policy across the range of public and commercial transport systems that service Western Australia. We connect people with goods and services through an intricate system of roads, railways, airports, ports and waterways and educate and regulate to keep them safe within those networks.
Department of Planning
The Department of Planning holds a state wide leadership responsibility in the planning of Western Australia through State Strategic Policy development, planning communities for the future, facilitating private and public investment, regulation and education. The Department adopts a strategic and holistic approach to achieve an effective balance between economic, social, environmental and sustainable outcomes.
Department of Health
Western Australia’s public health system provides safe, quality health care to 2.4 million Western Australians across an area of almost 2.5 million square kilometers. These standards contribute to Western Australia having one of the highest life expectancies in the world. In addition to its hospitals and health services, WA Health sets out to protect the health of Western Australians by promoting health, preventing disease and managing risks
Department of Sport and Recreation
The Department of Sport and Recreation is the lead agency responsible for the implementation of government policy and initiatives in sport and recreation. A key role of the department is to contribute to the healthy lifestyle of Western Australians by increasing physical activity in the community through sport and recreation.
South Australian Active Living Coalition
The Heart Foundation (SA) has been leading the SA Active Living Coalition since 2007. The Coalition’s purpose is “to create liveable environments that get more people active every day”. Membership on the Coalition is varied as responsibility for the design and creation of the built environment lie not only with health but also with urban planners, local government, developers, landscapers, designers, NGOs and others.

SA Health have been a partner and a supporter of the Heart Foundation's active living strategy for over 10 years. SA Health are a key funder and supporter of the SA Active Living Coalition and have contributed to our award winning resource Healthy By Design SA: A Guide to planning, designing and developing healthy urban environments in South Australia.
Department of Health and Human Services
Between 2014 and 2017, the partnership between the Heart Foundation (Vic) and DHHS has actively engaged local government planners, health professionals and strategists to consider the opportunities for building and delivering healthier communities. The activities undertaken within the Healthy Design Partnership have been funded by the Victorian Government through the Department of Health and Human Services.
