Federal Budget - A win for Heart Foundation and Walking
The Australian Government delivered the Federal Budget last week and we are delighted to announce that the Heart Foundation will receive $10 million over two years to help Australians walk more, through community programs, education, innovation and intervention.
The funding will help grow the Heart Foundation Walking Program, raise awareness of the benefits of physical activity and promote a national conversation on being more active.
It will also encourage innovative physical activity ideas in school, university and community environments and increasing physical activity among all Australians through a Prime Minister’s walking challenge.
Heart Foundation Walking currently has nearly 30,000 members and this funding will help us increase that number substantially by 2019.
