Opened in 2012, the Lightsview master planned development is located eight kilometres from the Adelaide Central Business District, in the City of Port Adelaide, Enfield. The estate has been awarded for its ability to deliver housing diversity with a mix of housing types and high-quality public open spaces.
Planning for active ageing
A commitment to provide the widest range of housing and land options in any Adelaide suburb has seen the development reflect small-lot and higher-density residential sites, which research indicates supports increased walkability.

Developed by Renewal SA in partnership with publicly listed Peet Ltd (formally CIC Australia), Lightsview comprises a 103-hectare site, that will be home to 2,700 families. The site features a diverse offering of detached homes, terrace housing and apartments. All homes are within a walkable 300 metres of a landscaped park or recreation area. In addition, the site exceeds the State Government’s affordable housing target requirement of 15%.

Within the Estate is the Stockland Lightsview Retirement Village, offering independent living villas that support residents to age in place through services and amenities that encourage mobility, passive recreation and social engagement.
The site is located among the Estate’s 15 hectares of reserves and green space, supporting active recreation, and the facility offers a club house and gym, providing opportunities for residents to partake in exercise classes, games, crafts and more. In addition, the Village has a community garden, resident-run café and alfresco dining space for residents to stay connected with friends and family.

The Village’s proximity to destinations such as essential medical services (across the road) and a shopping centre (650 metres away) supports ease of living for residents, while encouraging continued mobility. The Estate is also serviced by an integrated public transport network, easily accessed by a bus stop at the front of the village. In addition to the diverse, independent housing and the Stockland Lightsview Retirement Village, there is an aged care home situated within the 103-hectare estate.
