Australian experts call for space for safer walking and cycling

A group of doctors, public health, safety and transport organisations have joined together to call for decision makers to take urgent steps to enhance walking and cycling infrastructure and programs during the COVID-19 pandemic. This and other measures to support safe physical activity can occur on our streets now and will be vital when the economy is reopened. 


Over 100 signatures were received from leading experts across the country, including Heart Foundation Group CEO John Kelly. 


The letter and release were sent to 37 ministers, premiers, chief ministers and other MPs, including state and territory transport ministers, this afternoon. The letter and more information is available on the WeRide website:
