Councils have a broad role in minimising the harm from alcohol while at the same time balancing the economic benefits of licensed premises within their municipality.
This section has been developed to provide information to Councils about:
- Objecting to a liquor licence - The Liquor Control Reform Act and the role of Council in objecting to liquor licenses.
- Local level opportunities to reduce alcohol harm - Opportunities for action to minimise alcohol-related harm across the various roles and functions within a Council.
