PIA HABD Award for Planning Excellence: Nominations still open!

There is still time to submit the fantastic projects you have been working on to the 2020 PIA Awards for Planning Excellence!

The awards are open until August 25, and this year Queensland, Victoria and Western Australia are all offering the Healthy Active by Design Award.

This Award recognises projects that support and promote healthy and active living, with the intent to increase physical activity and other health outcomes in the built environment.

As the sponsor of the award, we advocate for environments that promote and support physical activity and heart-health outcomes. In collaboration with a number of stakeholders, including PIA, the Heart Foundation supports the creation of healthy built environments to get more Australians healthy and active. The built environment in which we live, work and play has a critical role in shaping our health.

The PIA HABD Award seeks to recognise exceptional design projects or policy/research initiatives which demonstrate how the HABD design features have been applied in its successful delivery. As such, applicants will need to frame their application to feature at least three of these design features in their submission.

Chances are if you have a current HABD case study you may be eligible to nominate for this award.

For further details and to fill in an online nomination, please visit the PIA website for QueenslandVictoria or Western Australia.
